The blocks were dark and dank with the everyday washing by the store owners. The shuttered entrances and windows reminded Jessica of the ever present factor of crime. The history behind the Argentinean revolution was one embattled with civil unrest and rioting throughout the streets. Albeit, the architecture was definitely inspired by European ancestry with rich wrought iron work everywhere. The intricate and ornate facades depicting their origins for all to see were mildew covered and growing moss amongst the shaded trees.

Myra was waiting silently contemplating her reunion with Clem. “I wonder if he ever thought about me?” as her thoughts pondered the past and the events leading up to her family’s exodus from Russia to the Chezc republic. Clem had risen from his seat on the airplane to use the washroom. He clamored through the isle with his overnight case and entered and locked the door. Staring at the graying hair and deepening lines across his forehead in the mirror he opened his case and pulled out the toothbrush and toiletries he brought to freshen up. The plane would be landing in another 40 minutes and he wanted to be presentable for his love. His mind wandered to the past as he toiled with his looks. His feelings of guilt weighed heavy on his soul. “I’m sorry Myra” played over and over in his mind.
Clem and Myra in the Past:
The noontime sun was high in the sky as she walked briskly across the street from the bakery. She looked right then left to make sure no cars were coming and stepped off the curb. A powerful arm grasped hers and yanked her back to the curb as a truck immediately gunned its engine and pulled right in front of her as it turned the corner and traversing part of the sidewalk. “Ugh! She whimpered and caught her breath as the strange man turned her and pulled her close to avoid the crushing tires. He’d placed himself between the truck and her. The side of the front bumper brushed his legs almost toppling him over backwards. He held tightly and used the weight of her body to stay upright.
As the truck passed the young woman responded, “Oh my, thank you. You saved my life”.  Myra expressed her words short of breath and visibly shaken. The blood had rushed from her face and her eyes were wide and glazed over with shock. Clem looked despondently into her eyes and lost himself to the moment. He brushed the hair from her face and continued to hold her close. Mesmerized by her beauty he bent slowly towards her and kissed her lightly across the lips. She responded to her savior and kissed him back. Her face flushed red with desire and she pulled back apparently embarrassed by her behavior. “I’m sorry, please don’t” she whispered. Clem continued to hold her and responded back,

Audrey sat patiently contemplating her approach to the problem at hand, as the news teams setup their cameras and the cosmetologist touched up her makeup. The deaths had been seemingly random and according to the police investigator, Chuck Jones, the leads were all dry. Something had to be done, or at least attempted.

The phone was ringing off the hook as Fesoj finally awoke from his deep trancelike slumber. The drugs worked as usual to induce their hidden agenda and whisked him away from the present. But, he felt her strong presence from within his trance and had to wake to take the call. “I’ll meet you at the main entrance to the War Memorial Building on old Park Boulevard.” He hung up as abruptly as he’d answered. Visions of darkness and running played over in his psyche. The pain was sharp in his back as he hit the ground breathless and crushed by the weight of the attacker. He could feel the knife twisting as he writhed in pain and struggled to view the assailant from peripheral vision. He could just make out the dirty blond hair under the ball cap and short glimpses of the gaunt features as the victims eyes glazed over and death whispered her name in his ear Je..i….
Chuck had taken this last ditch attempt by calling Fesoj. He’d gotten his name from some good informants that felt Fesoj could help Chuck with his case. The rest was destiny in the making.

“You two get in here!” called Pat from inside his office as he gestured for John and Audrey to come forward and in. “I’ve got your next assignment.” Audrey reached Pat’s office door first followed by John.  Both peered in quizzically then entered and sat down in the two old brown armchairs affronting Pat’s desk. Pat was busy reading and munching on some stale pretzels. Reaching out, with the bag in his hand, Pat offered, “You want some?” Both Audrey and John looked and answered in unison, “No thanks.” Audrey started in, “So, what ya got for us boss?” “Here”, Pat handed over a dossier full of notes, names and numbers. “What’s this?” questioned Audrey as she grasped the folder from his hand. “It’s all we got on this thing. The other guys didn’t want anything to do with it. I tried everyone else in the office and got the same response. That’s why it’s your next case.”
“So John and I get railroaded into this just because we were out doing our job? Why don’t we get a say in it?” Without even a pause Pat says, “Read it over, but keep this in mind. This could be your big break girly.” Pat had responded in as though he’d not heard a word from her mouth. Audrey kept calm and brushed off the fact that Pat had ignored her response, and for calling her girly. She’d actually come to like his derogatory use of “girly” towards her. It gave her a sense that he actually cared more about her than the rest of the reporters. They were all Mister or Miss, so she felt somewhat privileged that he’d given her a unique gender specific pundit which was more derived from her age than from her gender. She always looked far younger than the rest, and used it to her advantage. “Okay, I’ll keep that in mind. So John stays with me then, right?” “Sure does, you two make a good team. He’s the brains and you’re the mouth piece. So to speak”, he responded laughing deeply as he continued to chew on the stale pretzels.

"Eleutheria Kaustos" Novella Synopsis by seviL doG

I've started on my second book and wanted to give everyone a glimpse of what's in it with this partial synopsis. I'll be posting excerpts from it at times so everyone can read along. Kinda like teasers from the chapters written.

Eleutheria Kaustos – Novella by Sevil Dog

Murder, Intrigue, Romance, Restitution.

Audrey Muha, a young vivacious freelance report for the San Diego Free Press, tells the story of her encounter with truth and the foundations of a freedom born of Burner principles. The story goes into the lives of several characters and across two continents. It begins with Jessica, a sexually abused teen that eventually escapes the bounds of her incestuous tormentor only to fall prey to prostitution and her own misguided illusions of vengeance in Argentina. Sean Miller, a naïve wholesome twenty year old who falls in love with Jessica and spends most of his adult life in search of this true love, only to end up being a suspect in a serial murder case as his search closes in.
Chuck Jones, the police investigator in charge of the serial murder case struggles with lack of evidence and strives to accept the transcendental information of a recommended psychic. Only to discover that truth is sometimes not seen but felt. And Fesoj Fragua, the psychic who is unwillingly involved by events beyond his control, is thrust deep into the lives of everyone involved. The struggles each faces with their own seemingly menial lives invokes one to ponder the life long destinies played out each and every day forming the jigsaw puzzle of life.
.
.
.
In the end, these principles are used for a new political platform and espoused to the world to unite humanity with the help of a friend.

"The Creed Of Greed" - Chapter Twenty The Fall by seviL doG

"The Creed Of Greed" - Fiction (Literary / SciFi / Romance / Alternate History)

Well, the book is an independent self published work that took me over a year to complete. Having never written or even considered writing a book, especially a novel. I feel this went well. Albeit, the story emerges slowly from very shadowy depths to a more resilient and detailed depiction, I have received good reviews from a couple of sources on createspace. Currently trying to get reviews from other sources, being a newbie I had no idea I was supposed to start searching for everyone 1 year prior to publishing. So, from that I’m playing catch up. Anyway, here’s a excerpt from my first book.

The 1979 summer sessions of airman and survival training turned out to be quite an experience for Epul. Each session was 6 weeks long and carried specific credit hours to be applied towards graduation requirements. Starting his second year at the academy Epul felt privileged.
“Hey Mike, how was your summer?” “Great! I went home first and got loaded”, Mike laughed heartily. “Then spent time with my family and Anita, my girlfriend I told you about. Second session I had airman training at Wright Patterson. It was okay, but not what I’d wanna do the rest of my life.” “What’d they have you doing?” “Oh, they started me off with the Trash detail. Talk about some slackers.” “Yeah, I know what you mean. I ended up at Scott Air Force Base outside of St. Louis. They had me with the sewage team unloading planes. Talk about smelly jobs. But hey, the guys were cool.” “The airmen on the trash team weren’t happy having to train a cadet about trash. We went dinking a lot though.” “Same here” “3rd session was cool with the survival training.” “Yeah, I had that first session. What’d ya think about the P.O.W. (prisoner of war) camp?” “It was alright except for the interrogation bits. I’m a terrible actor.” “Me too, I couldn’t stop laughing half the time and they ended up putting me in the box more than most.” “You too, hell I thought I was going for the record.” “Did any of your guys make an escape?” “We had a few that made it out. They ended up in the pit after they got caught.” “Yeah, us too” replied Epul. “Hey, how was your visit home?” “It was good, did pretty much the same you did; family and girl.”
And so went the various discussions with other classmates as they returned for their second year. Classes started within a couple of days upon returning and seeing the new set of dooleys marching about felt strangely intense. Epul reminisced about his first year and couldn’t help but trouble over the various upper classmen whom had opened the shroud of doubt he felt.
Epul flashes back on Previous Year:
“Hey Mister Fragua, get in here I have a couple of questions for you.” “Yes sir” as Epul turned into the upper classman’s room and stood at attention the upper classman closed the door. “Relax, Fragua. What’s your first name?” “Epul sir” “Forget the sir stuff in here, I’m Danny. This is Jim and that’s Marsha.” “Sir, Yes sir happy to make your acquaintances”, Epul responded in a straight monotone. “Dude, relax”, came Danny’s response.
At that Epul relaxed and felt almost human again. “How can I help you sir.” “Well it’s more of a question we have for you. We heard that you’re an artist of sorts.” “Yes sir, I do love to draw and paint.” “Right, well we have a proposition for you. How would you like to be able to relax and paint?” “I’d love that sir.” “I told you to relax and call me Danny.” “Okay Danny. Yes, I’d love that. What do I have to do?” “Well, you see that wall there?” “Yes.” “I want you to paint a nude lady lying against a tiger.” Epul pondered the chore and then asked, “How am I gonna paint a picture and not get into trouble? The walls are white.” “There’s the trick. I want you to paint it in phosphorous paint. Or simply put, in laundry soap.” “But how are you gonna see that? More like how am I supposed to see that as I paint?” “Yeah, well here’s the thing. When everyone’s done with daily duty and you’re basically on break. I want you to come over here and paint in the dark with a black light on.” “Oh, now I understand. Sure I can do that.” “Oh, another question for you Epul, You cool?” “What’d you mean?” “You cool, I mean we like to party and relax. You cool with that?” “Sure” was Epul’s response at the prospect of being able to relax in an upper classman’s room was like a dream come true.
It turned out Epul had set himself up for scandals to come. He’d sensed an irrevocable path had been accepted as soon as he entered the room. These upper classmen were considered cream of the crop and had completed all training with honors. They reveled at winning at all cost and portrayed an ideal cadet life. It happened one evening while painting in Danny’s room. It was a time when Epul ought to have been studying but was instead enlisted to paint Danny’s room. He’d arrived shortly after returning from dinner formation. Knocking and requesting audience, Epul was quickly shuffled in by Danny and Marsha. “How’s it going Epul, you ready to start on that picture you designed for us?” “Sure am. Do you have the stuff I requested for painting?” “Sure do. Hey you want a shot of Turkey?” “Why not.” Was Epul’s response after a short pause.
Marsha had already prepared his drink and was handing it to him as he’d responded. “Ah, now that’s a drink”, whispered Epul as he prepared to drink it down. Marsha and Danny had apparently been drinking awhile as they propelled several shots in a row. All the while Epul sipped his shot glass gingerly savoring the taste. “Dude, shoot it already. There’s plenty more where that came from. Oh, and if it’s too strong for you we also have beer.” Ever vigilant of others Epul felt twinges of paranoia twitching at his mind. “What do I do if anyone enters?” “Don’t worry man, I’ve got it covered.” Marsha quickly brushed up next to Epul to study the base drawing from which Epul was going to be working from. “That’s really nice, but can you make the woman look more like me?” “I’ll try, but I’m just letting you know that I’ve never really worked with invisible paint. So, don’t hold me to it.” “That’s okay I just want the guys to kinda remember me after I graduate this year. Try your best to at least make my tits and ass recognizable.” At that Epul blushed visibly and couldn’t help but stare at her endowments. “Here have a better look”, as she removed her shirt and bra. Epul’s body responded embarrassingly as his shorts bulged from his excitement. “Sorry…I can’t help it.” “No problemo dude. I love a good hard one”, as she slowly slid her hand over his bulging shorts. Epul was distracted and lost in the moment. He hadn’t noticed that Danny had retired behind his desk and was busy unraveling some sort of aluminum foil package. “Marsha, get your nymph self over to the other desk and give me an empty coke can.”
Visibly irritated at having to leave her hard plaything alone she quickly went to the adjacent desk and removed an empty coke can from the bottom left drawer. “Here, anything else?” “No not for now. Have fun.” Epul had returned to preparing for the initial rough sketch on the wall when Marsha returned to her fun. “Got another shot of that turkey around?” Epul asked feeling nervous yet exhilarated at having this upper class woman taunting his manhood. Marsha quickly reached over and grabbed a prepared shot for Epul and handed it to him as she continued to taunt his shorts. “Man you’re gonna make this rough.” “I like it rough. You paint I’ll take care of the rest.” “Okay, I’ll try”, he responded after shooting down the second drink. As Epul prepared the paint mixture of laundry soap and water, the black lighting made the preparation start to visibly glow in the dark. “Wow, this stuff really does glow. Awe man this is gonna be awesome”, all the while struggling to maintain a straight face with Marsha groping the outside of his shorts. “I think Willy wants to be free” Marsha blurted out loud. “Well let him out” replied Danny from behind his desk.
He had been actively pursuing some form of preparation with the coke can. Danny had acquired a clothes hanger from his trash can and taken the cardboard tube portion and split it into two uneven pieces.  He was slowly wrapping some tissue paper around the two sections about midpoint. He then split a small piece of aluminum foil from the larger wrapper and proceeded to poke small pin holes in it with a needle. All the while Epul was going through a frenzied painstaking time trying to paint and have a woman play with his genitals. Marsha was relentless. Each time Epul tried to get to painting she would further her advances and eventually was sucking on his neck with the voracity of a 20 horse power vacuum. Epul was lost to the events and hadn’t noticed Danny putting water in the coke can and inserting the tubes in the mouth of it. His small aluminum hole filled piece had turned into a bowl at the end of the shorter cardboard tube and was being filled with a brown powdery substance.
Slowly Danny progressed to the scene of the action with both hands holding his homemade paraphernalia ready to light up. “Marsha, I hate to disturb you while you’re having so much fun, but could you prep the towel, please?” Uncoupling herself from Epul’s neck was done with much chagrin. “Fine, hold that thought honey”, she reverberated as she reached into the cabinet for a small towel. She soaked it in water in the sink and rung out as much of the water as possible. She then handed it to Danny for his first hit. Epul watched on in wonder. He’d never seen such behavior and was completely, if not totally, lost to the confusion brewing in his head. The alcohol hadn’t helped either. Poking a small hole in the side of the coke can, Danny lit his lighter and began to inhale through the higher tube. All the while he inhaled; he held the flame over the small bowl holding the drug and covered the small hole in the side of the coke can with his thumb. As he came to the end of his inhalation he released the small hole on the side of the coke can and finished off his hit. Eyes bulging red, Danny seemingly held his breath for what seemed like two minutes and exhaled into the damp towel. Epul was intrigued with the fact that no smoke or smell could be seen nor sensed inside the room.
“Marsha your turn”, Danny said as he handed the can over. Marsha abruptly went through the same actions and finished off her hit by exhaling into the towel. Turning to Epul, who had been watching and painting, Marsha refilled the bowl and said, “Here, let me help you as she lit the bowl while he held the coke can as instructed. “What is it?” he asked. Danny quickly responded in a whisper, “Some good old Hashish. You’re gonna like this.” Epul was caught in the pit and his inner self was ready to leave, but his physical being was absorbed with alcohol and the sexual feelings stemming from Marsha proved too much to resist. Inhaling, Epul unaccustomed to smoking hash, struggled to keep from coughing. Epul’s senses blazed with the burning drug coursing its way through his lungs. Desire and lust ran rampant filling his body with Marsha’s emotions. Marsha and Danny intentionally withheld the towel so as to make Epul feel the full effect of the hash. Taunting; “You want this?” holding the towel higher in front of Epul. “You can’t have this until we say so”, whispered Marsha. “And don’t cough or else we might get in trouble.” “Come on, hold it…hold it…What? You can’t hold it anymore?” Flailing his arms wildly in the air, Epul was about to burst. They finally relinquished the towel and Epul exhaled the putrid drugs into the towel filter.
As Marsha eyed Epul and saw the haze taking effect she felt the need rising. Her blood had begun to boil and Epul responded feeling her emotions taking hold of his being. Marsha was in need and took full advantage of the red eyed loaded beast within Epul’s shorts. “This is mine” she retorted as she pulled at Epul’s manhood and released him from his bondage. Danny watched on in amusement and jovially smoked more from his homemade contraption. By the second hit Epul was in Marsha’s world and felt the blood rushing evermore into his manhood. Throbbing with an intensity of a red giant, His galactic exploration had taken off into the abyss of space. His mind swooned with the passing planets and the dizzying black holes swirled him in with ease. His body bore into her with an unyielding battering ram that felt no satisfaction. His spirit was somewhere else but he felt the slithering mass against his rod and shuttered with pleasure. Her body responded with waves of pleasure as she peaked time and time again. Eternity was on the horizon and Epul felt awash with loneliness and guilt.
Much later:
As taps played over the loudspeaker, Epul was slammed back into reality. The painting was ……
